If you have 3 or more friends, and are willing to work outdoors, Happy Tails can set up a class for you! The following are some examples.

Clicker Mechanics: This class is for those that want an introduction to training using a marking signal and beginning training.

We'll practice:
- Understanding basic concepts of reinforcement training
- Mat training and relaxation
- Walking safely on sidewalks and stairwells
- Coming when called, and auto check-ins
- Meeting people and other dogs
- Impulse control in and out of your car
- Coffee house down stays!
Whistle-In:
Want to solidify your dog's come when called? The Whistle Recall is a great way to do it!
- Your whistle can be heard over long distances like at the beach or on mountain hikes.
- Your whistle sound never changes so your dog ALWAYS knows what it means!
- It's simple to train!
Walk with Me: Loose-Leash Skills
There's a leash law in our town so you might as well leash train your dog! You'll start with the basics - eye contact, hand targeting, and the correct use of equipment. By the end of this class you and your dog will be walking side by side. We'll work on more formal meet and greets and toss in a few distractions for leave-it practice. Waiting at street corners, get out of dodge strategies, and exercises to develop your dog's self control!
Something from Nothing:
This is a shaping class. I will give you a list of behaviors that include fun but useful tricks and you pick what you'd like your dog to learn.
- Learn the mechanics of clicker training
- Understand the importance of timing, rate, and criteria setting!
- Write out a detailed step-by-step training plan and log your sessions
- Show off!
